Greetings Rotarians, Partners and Friends of District 9550

It is our great pleasure to invite you to this year’s district conference at the Pullman Reef Casino in the Cairns CBD by the sea.

It’s been a case of putting all shoulders to the (Rotary) wheel for members of the combined Rotary clubs of Cairns whose brief is: build a conference weekend that will embrace the many elements of Rotary, engage our visitors in robust and productive participation, and facilitate an environment where Rotarians will enjoy their Cairns experience.

At this vital time in Rotary’s development, we have sought speakers who will stir your thinking about our future directions and responsibilities and encourage your enthusiastic participation in our open forum

We have also included speakers with ‘hands-on’ experience to talk of their work at the coal front of our Rotary projects. Check out our speakers on this website.

And, of course, our Rotarians of the future – our New Generations will be playing a vital role in the entire programme.

As for the social side of your conference weekend – there’s the informal Welcome Function at the Casino on Saturday evening and the Rotary Foundation Breakfast, just a short stroll away at Dundees on the Waterfront on Sunday morning. On Sunday evening, dust off your tropical gear and join Janet & I as we take you Tropical Cruisin’ at the magnificent Cruise Liner Terminal on Trinity Inlet, just across the road from the Casino.

We haven’t forgotten those of you who prefer to spend your time outside the conference either – on Sunday we offer a treat - Diamond Dave’s Delectable & Delicious Day Out!

If dining out or shopping appeals - you will be able to take a leisurely walk to the nearby restaurants, retail outlets – and need I add, clubs and bars - in our famous CBD tourist area.

So friends, we look forward to your company in Cairns at RDC 2012.
